A Straight up bet: a payout of 35 to 1 at a chance of 1 out of 38

American roulette pays 35 to 1 for one number. European roulette pays the same for one number. The difference between the wheels is how many pockets miss: 37 out of 38 against 36 out of 37. On the RoulCoin wheel the chance of a number named in advance is 1 out of 38 on every spin, and past spins do not move that fraction.

The chip sits on one cell: on 17, on 0 or on 00, the payout is the same. A hit returns a profit of 35 and the chip itself. Any other pocket takes the chip. Neither the zeros, nor a color, nor Even enter this payout, until they have a stake of their own.

Over 38 spins of one unit, if each pocket came up exactly once, one hit would give +35, and 37 misses would take 37. The result is −2. That is the same 5.26 per 100 staked as for a color. The rare plus of 35 is fitted to one pocket out of 38, not to a milder field.

How often a number comes up on American roulette

The expectation of one hit is 38 spins. That is an average, not a deadline by which the table is obliged to deliver the number. Over 10 spins the number comes up at least once in 23.41% of such stretches and does not come up even once in 76.59%. Over 38 spins at least one hit happens in 63.70% of stretches, and none in 36.30%.

An average of one per 38 spins does not cancel the third row: in about 36 stretches out of 100 a number named in advance does not come up even once over those 38 spins. In other stretches it comes up twice and more. The average of one time is assembled from empty stretches and repeats, not from an even schedule.

Plus 35 and the minus of a long run of misses

Ten misses in a row cost 10, if the chip equals 1 each time. Thirty-eight misses cost 38. Doubling after every miss, for the same thought that “the number ought to come up,” gathers a different sum: eight losses there are already 255. A Straight up chip does not include that row. Anyone who adds doubling is no longer playing a flat number, but a ladder on one pocket, where the winning pockets are not 18, but 1.

Plus 35 covers 35 previous flat misses and leaves zero, if the hit fell on the 36th spin. On the 37th spin after 36 misses, plus 35 leaves minus 1. On the first spin, plus 35 is the whole result. Where the hit sits inside the series decides the bankroll; the table’s share does not depend on that place.

One pocket on two wheels

On 37 pockets there are 36 empty ones, and the share of one number equals 2.70 per 100 staked. The payout stays 35 to 1. On 38 pockets there are 37 empty ones, and the share is 5.26. French roulette does not pay a Straight up number extra for the half-stake rule: that rule is about an even chance, not about a cell with a number. The RoulCoin wheel is American, with 0 and 00.

38 pockets1/3835 to 15.26
37 pockets1/3735 to 12.70

For a player in England, 00 is the same single number as 17. There is no separate premium for double zero. A time zone does not shorten the wait from 38 spins to 37.

Plus 35 covers 35 flat misses. A thirty-sixth miss before the hit already leaves a minus, and the chance on every spin is still 1 out of 38.

How many spins to write down if you play online

The number and the length of the stretch are written down before the first chip: for example, 17 and no more than 38 units. Otherwise, after the twentieth miss, it is easy to decide that the number “owes” a hit, although the next spin again has a chance of 1 out of 38. You can play online for free on this cell with a virtual balance. Guest chips do not turn into a withdrawal, and a run of misses is visible on them without a deposit.

  • One cell, a payout of 35 to 1, a chance of 1/38 per spin.
  • 0 and 00 are not paid by a bet on 17, and they have no premium of their own if the chip stands on them themselves.
  • The length of the series is limited by a sum, not by a feeling that the number is about to come up.
  • Doubling after a miss is written down separately or not used. It does not come attached to a flat cell.

Why two hits over 38 spins do not change the next one

Two appearances of a number over 38 spins are ordinary chance around the average of “one time.” The third spin after such a stretch, already a new one, again has a chance of 1 out of 38. A counter outside the window does not subtract extra pockets from the wheel.

Over 38 spins, is a number obliged to come up once?

No. On average, one hit comes up over 38 spins. None at all happens in about 36.30% of such stretches, and at least one in 63.70%.

Does plus 35 cover any previous misses?

Only if there were no more than 35 of them at a chip of 1. Thirty-six misses and then +35 leave −1. Ten misses and then +35 leave +25.

Does 00 pay more than an ordinary number?

No. 00, and 0, and any number 1–36 pay 35 to 1 if the chip stands directly on that cell. The chance of each is 1 out of 38.

Do ten spins give a hit more often than in half of cases?

No. At least one hit over 10 spins is 23.41%. In 76.59% of such stretches the named number is absent entirely.

One number shows the table’s share through a rare plus of 35; it does not get around it. Neighboring playing strategies cover more pockets with a more frequent and smaller plus. The number and the ceiling of the series are better written down before the spin, while thirty misses do not yet look like a debt of the wheel.
